- OpenLinux is a Caldera Systems-maintained distribution of the Linux
- operating system. Caldera Systems OpenLinux 2.3 uses the standard 2.2.10
- Linux kernel. It also includes other unique features, making OpenLinux
- the most reliable and easy-to-use Linux available.

- Do one of the following:

- Install OpenLinux with 1. Insert the Installation CD.
- a bootable CD-ROM drive
- 2. Restart your computer.

- NOTE: For details on installing OpenLinux,
- see the "Getting Started Guide."

- Install OpenLinux with See the "READMEus.txt" file in the "col/launch/
- a diskette floppy" directory on this Installation CD
- or create a diskette from the OpenLinux
- Windows setup menu. If the installation does
- not work for you, see the README file in
- "col/launch/lisa/floppy" found on the OpenLinux
- Installation CD.

- disk, insert the disk in the diskette drive
- and restart your computer.)

- Install StarOffice The "recommended" and "recommended + commercial"
- installation options install only the setup
- files for StarOffice. Execute
- "/opt/Office51/bin/setup" on your installed
- system to complete the installation. You will
- need a media key (inside the OpenLinux Getting
- Started Guide cover) and a registration number
- (available from http://www.stardivision.com)
- to fully install StarOffice.

- Getting Help
- ============
- When you purchase this release of OpenLinux, you are entitled to
- installation support via the Internet to help you install the product and
- ensure that the default configuration of OpenLinux is functioning correctly
- for you. This installation support is limited to 90 days or five incidents,
- whichever occurs first.

- The first step to obtaining technical support is to check the Knowledge
- Base on Caldera Systems' Web site at http://support.calderasystems.com.
- If the Knowledge Base does not provide a solution, you can submit an
- incident with your registration number and details of the problem via the
- "Personal Assistance" section of the Knowledge Base.
